Position Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Impact and Alignment is a senior leader at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM), responsible for translating vision into action through disciplined strategic implementation, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder alignment. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, with a dotted line to the CEO, the AVP of Impact and Alignment plays a central role in driving organizational performance, ensuring strategic consistency, and fostering internal alignment. Through this work, the AVP of Impact and Alignment advances NVMM’s mission to honor all Veterans, elevate their stories, and amplify the power of service for everyone, everywhere—ensuring that every initiative reflects and reinforces the institution’s mission, vision, and impact.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Implementation and Oversight
  • Drive the execution of NVMM’s Strategic Plan, advancing prioritized goals, initiatives, and performance metrics across the organization.
  • Provide recommendations to the CEO and President for how best to prioritize initiatives over time to ensure sustained progress and strategic alignment.
  • Utilize NVMM’s Core Metrics (emotional impact, reach and engagement, financial sustainability) to guide implementation, measure progress, and support storytelling, planning, and fundraising.
  • Partner with leadership to integrate strategy into department goals, budgets, and performance management systems.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and President, helping focus executive leadership on high-impact decisions and opportunities.
Leadership Team Facilitation and Internal Alignment
  • Serve as a connector across departments and leadership levels, ensuring strategy-to-execution alignment, seamless communication, and shared accountability.
  • Plan and facilitate Leadership Team meetings that promote strategic clarity, collaboration, and operational discipline.
  • Maintain alignment between operational activities (PIT) and strategic priorities, supporting a unified and high-performing organizational culture.
  • Promote open communication and institutional learning, driving continuous improvement in alignment with strategic goals.
Board, Stakeholder, and Executive Engagement
  • Lead the development of Board Reports, strategic updates, and executive communications in collaboration with the CEO, President and CHRO.
  • Serve as the executive leader for the logistics oversight of Board meetings, ensuring smooth planning, preparation, and execution in partnership with internal teams.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Board resources, materials, and tools to support informed and engaged governance.
  • Serve as a primary liaison for strategic engagement with key stakeholder groups, including the creation and launch of NVMM’s Veterans Advisory Council.
  • Ensure timely, aligned communication and coordination for executive- and board-level engagement.
Cross-Organizational Projects & Innovation
  • Oversee the alignment of NVMM’s Program and Event Implementation Template (PIT) process with strategic priorities to ensure consistent evaluation and resource stewardship.
  • Provide leadership for cross-functional initiatives that do not have a designated owner, ensuring momentum, accountability, and alignment with NVMM’s goals.
  • Champion innovative thinking aligned with NVMM’s “Ignore the Box” ethos, integrating diverse perspectives into institutional strategy.

SALARY FOR ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT OF IMPACT AND ALIGNMENT
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. NVMM offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package along with complimentary parking.
